A semiconductor component (1) with surface-mounted external contacts comprises a chip (2) with function blocks (4-9) on the active upper side having spaced neighboring external electrical contact surfaces (11). There are short constant electrical contact rails between the blocks and contacts. An independent claim is also included for a production process for the above.
