IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a image processing method capable of accelerating an image processing in the case of detecting a head section region or the like from a certificate photographic image with a simple configuration without being with a shape database.

SOLUTION: This method for generating information for extracting the head region from the object image comprises: a pre-processing (S1) for binarizing the object image by extracting contours from the object image; a head top retrieval point decision processing (S2) for deciding a head top retrieval point with respect to the binarized image; a head portion contours detection processing (S3) for retrieving an upward protruded-curve closely resemble to the contours of the head top portion using the decided head top retrieval point as a starting point; and a jaw portion contours detection processing (S4) for retrieving a downward protruded-curve closely resemble to the contours of the lower jaw portion.
