PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and the like in which apparatus productivity is improved by shortening a deletion processing time when deleting image data stored in a storage device. SOLUTION: A nonvolatile memory means 7 is provided for storing image data in the state of compressed in a form of JBIG format. With regard to image data-to-be-deleted stored in the memory means 7, only head data of planes having restoration information thereof are deleted by a deleting means 8 or management data for managing information relating to the head data of the planes having the restoration information of the image data are deleted by the deleting means 8 so that the image data become un-restorable. Only the head data or only the management data are deleted, thereby shortening a deletion processing time in comparison with the case of deleting all regions of image data.
