PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote imaging unit capable of flexibly extending a video signal form outputted from a camera device, without increasing the size of the camera device or increasing the price of the camera device. SOLUTION: The remote imaging unit is characterized in to include the camera device 10, provided with an imaging section for imaging objects to generate video signals, and an option card slot 18; and a plurality of kinds of optional card boards 20, selectively loaded to the option card slot 18, converting the signal form of the video signal and outputting the converted video signal to external devices. Through such a configuration, the camera device 10 can output the video signal of a plurality of kinds of signal forms, by selectively loading a different option card board to the option card slot 18. Thus, the form of the video signal outputted from the camera device 10 can be extended flexibly. Further, since it is not necessary to incorporate a circuit for converting diversified video signals to the camera device 10, the scale of the camera device will not increase nor the price of the camera device will become high.
