PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based composition for coating, useful as a ground-treating agent and a coloring agent colored with a pigment, having excellent adhesiveness to an olefinic resin material such as a film and a sheet. SOLUTION: The water-based composition for coating the olefinic resin material comprises a water-based dispersion of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and at least one kind of 1-4C alcohols.
