PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polymer complex bearing side chains through simple steps in a short time in an industrial scale. SOLUTION: This production method is for producing a polymer complex bearing side chains comprising a metal ion and an organic ligand. In this case, an aqueous solution is used as a solvent for the metal salt including the metal ion and an organic solvent having a specific value of dielectric constant is used as a solvent for the organic ligand and the reaction between them is carried out in a solution system.
