PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively output optimum position/angle data (4, 4A), according to the frequency of a sensor signal, through the use of interpolation circuits of a closed loop system and an open loop system. SOLUTION: The signal interpolation method and the apparatus detect the frequency of the sensor signal (1), through the use of two systems of the interpolation circuits (3, 3A) of the closed loop system (5) and the open loop system (6) and select and output position/angle data (4, 4A) of either system (5 or 6), through the use of a selector (20).
