PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a learning supporting system enabling the efficient learning of motions and a learning supporting method. SOLUTION: The learning supporting system is equipped with an image input means (1, 2) for acquiring two-dimensional images of a learner, a characteristic point extracting means (32) for defining characteristic points of the learner in the acquired two-dimensional images, a three-dimensional coordinate calculating means (33) for calculating three-dimensional coordinates of a first characteristic point, a recording means (34) for recording target motion data including target characteristic points, a body dimension adjusting means (35) for modifying the target motion data depending on body dimensions of the learner, an image generating means (36) for generating composite images in which the target motions and the learner's motions are superposed by using the three-dimensional coordinate data of the characteristic point of the learner and the target motion data after the modification, and a display means (4) for displaying the composite images. A figure indicating the characteristic points of the learner is changed on the composite images depending on the displacement of the corresponding characteristic points and target characteristic points of the learner.
