A method for transmission of digital information packets (l-1,l-2...l-X) in a data network involves separating safety elements of the information packets into one or more data packet groups (GM), to which are added redundancy packets (RS1-1, RS1-2... RS2-L). In the receiver (UE) the safety information of the erroneous and/or lost information packets are reconstructed by the second redundancy packet (RS1-1) and with the aid of packet numbers of the correctly received information packets and the reconstructed safety information the positions of the safety elements of the information packet (l-1, l-2...l-X) and the positions of the first redundancy packet (RS1) are communicated into the respective data packet group (GM).
