PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal for a bypass circuit in a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: This gas turbine engine component 52 comprises an annular flange arm 61, a backing plate 71 mounted on the flange arm 61, and the bypass circuit 72 formed between the flange arm 61 and the backing plate 71. The bypass circuit 72 includes one or more channels 74, 76 formed in the flange arm 61 or the backing plate 71. In the case of using one or more channels, at least one connection slot 80 is provided between the channels 74, 76. An inlet passage 82 extends through the flange arm 61 in fluid communication with the frontmost channel 74, and an outlet slot 88 is formed between the flange arm 61 and the backing plate 71 in fluid communication with the rearmost channel 76.
