PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine igniter capable of appropriately performing control to prevent detonation from being generated in all range of rotational speed of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: Generation of detonation is detected by comparing digital values of peak values of output of combustion pressure sensors 8A, 8B with a judgement value. When the number of detonation generation in a predetermined time exceeds a setting value, ignition position of the engine is deterred by fixed angles and when no detonation is generated and when the number of detonation generation is less than the setting value in the predetermined time, the ignition position is proceeded by the fixed angles. Detection of detonation is appropriately conducted by changing the judgement value according to a rotation speed so that the judgement value becomes higher according to increase of rotation speed of the internal combustion engine in the case where the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is equal to or less than the setting value.
