PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution line short-circuit detector capable of surely detecting a terminal short-circuit by detecting a system accident through a current change component in a power distribution system for setting a current threshold value determined as an accident without being affected by the distance of a distribution line and the magnitude of a load. SOLUTION: This distribution line short circuit detector, which detects the presence of short circuit within the multiple-phase and multiple-wire power distribution system, is provided with a short circuit detection device for detecting the short circuit based on the current change component in the distribution line. When the increment of a current amplification value, which is detected by comparing the current amplification value at a present time with the current amplification value of a prescribed time period before, exceeds the current increase threshold value previously set, and when the phase change amount, which is detected by comparing the current phase at a present time with the current phase of a prescribed time period before, exceeds the phase change threshold value previously set, the short circuit detection device determines that the short circuit occurs in the power distribution system.
