摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase in size by forming a positioning groove and a step, and to eliminate bending of an optical waveguide and an optical waveguide connector which fits into the optical waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: A core 66 is surrounded by a plate shaped clad material 64 and a recessed part 72 is arranged at the location over the region where the core 66 of the clad material 64 is projected. By engaging the recessed part 72 to a projected part 73 arranged on an optical waveguide connector 70, the core 66 is properly positioned with respect to the optical waveguide connector 70. Thus, only by connecting the optical waveguide connector 70 to a connector 71, the optical axis of the core 66 and the optical axis of an optical waveguide 51 of the connector 71 are matched with each other, and aligning work is not required.
