PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of conducting a handwritten character recognition by scaling a handwritten character input and to provide a computer program and a data processing system thereof.

SOLUTION: A method for scaling the handwritten character input for the handwritten character recognition includes a step of deriving a stroke parameter from a handwritten character stroke, and a step of partitioning the input area in which the handwritten character stroke is supplied. The stroke parameter is scaled according to the input area.
