PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the projector of a planetarium controlling the degree of twinkle of stars and creating natural twinkling videos even when used for a star field including the Milky Way. SOLUTION: The fixed star projection cylinder 10 of the planetarium is so constituted that: the light from a light source is guided by a light guide 15 composed of a bunch of optical fibers 14 and made incident on a condenser lens 13 through a relay lens 16; the light passing through a fixed-star original plate 11 provided with transmission holes corresponding to the image of fixed-stars in the star field is projected, as the image of stars, through a projection lens 12 on a screen. Further, a twinkle base plate 20 having light shielding patterns whose light shielding property differs depending on the position is arranged in the optical path of the fixed-star projection cylinder 10, and the twinkle base plate 20 is made to reciprocally rotate by a motor 21 fixed to the center.
