PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which even when a photoreceptor is scraped, scuffed and undergoes a local change of capacitance, a change of sensitivity is suppressed. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus in which the photoreceptor is irradiated with the laser light of 390-425 nm wavelength modulated according to an input signal to form a latent image on the photoreceptor, the latent image is developed with toner to form a toner image, and this toner image is transferred onto paper to obtain an image, an absorbance to the laser light up to a charge generating (CG) layer of the photoreceptor is larger than that to light of 800 nm wavelength and the absorbance to the laser light is≥0.045.
