PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymerization initiator composition that exhibits neither burn nor ignitability even in contact with paper or the like in air, provides a polymerizable composition with polymerization activity and cures the polymerizable composition in a short time and an adhesive composition comprising the same. SOLUTION: The polymerization initiator composition for a polymerizable monomer constituting a dental adhesive composition comprises 100 parts wt. of at least one kind of an organoboron compound (A) selected from the group consisting of a trialkylboron, an alkoxyalkylboron, a dialkylborane and a partially oxidized trialkylboron, 5-40 parts wt. of an aprotic solvent (B) having 50°C-120°C boiling point and 0.2-5 parts wt. of an alcohol (C) having 60°C-180°C boiling point.
