LENS CENTERING CLAMP METHOD AND CENTERING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve accurate and speedy centering movement without providing additional hardware raising a device cost regarding a lens clamp method for fastening both surfaces of a lens with peripheral ends of cup shaped holders confronting on a same axis and a lens centering machine for working an outer periphery of the lens by fastening the lens by the method. SOLUTION: The lens is softly fastened with set first fastening force, rotation of the holder is started, and after fastening force release operation for lowering so that the fastening force of the lens is temporarily released while the holders are rotated, the lens is strongly fastened with set second fastening force. The time from the first fastening force until the fastening force is released or the time from the release state until the fastening force is returned to the first fastening force is set by a timer and the fastening force is continuously varied.
