PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method of an overcoat clear coating composition, which is a method for air spray coating or electrostatic coating of the overcoat clear coating composition over a cured coating film, excellent in the wettability to an undercoat film, forms an overcoat clear coating film excellent in adhesion to an overbaked undercoat film, and forms a stable adhesive overcoat clear coating film without sanding at the time of recoat coating of the overcoat clear coating composition. SOLUTION: The overcoat clear coating composition containing (A) and (B) in a range of 90/10-50/50 in mass ratio, wherein (A) is a coating film forming resin and (B) is an organic solvent with a surface tension of 25.0 mN/m or lower at 20°C and an evaporating rate of 0.3 or lower at 1.0 of the evaporation rate of normal butyl acetate, is applied by air spray or electrostatically on the cured coating film.
