Fastening element (10) comprises a tubular expandable sleeve (16) through which a shaft (12) extends. The sleeve is placed on an expandable cone (14) to extend and anchor in a blind hole. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Arrangement containing the fastening element; (2) Process for anchoring a fastening element in a hole; and (3) Placing tool for the fastening element. Preferred Features: The expandable sleeve has a conical extension (18) on an inner side of its front side facing the cone. The cone has an angle of 14-20[deg], preferably 17[deg]. The expandable sleeve has a roughened section (20) on its outer side in the front region facing the cone.
