The device (10) is assembled of two main parts (12, 14), both joined to a transversal axle (42) in order to be adjusted to the jaw of the particular patient before being attached to one of the bases used in correcting the shape of the upper or lower jaw. The first part (12) is fitted with two transversally positioned spindles (18, 20) moving the lateral parts (34, 36) away from each other when rotated. The second part (14) is provided with a longitudinally positioned spindle (81) acting on a transversal element (91).
