<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The pressure meter such as a barometer, sphygmomanometer for measuring arterial blood pressure, or manometer which uses fluid columns, giving reliable and accurate presentation of pressure to be measured. Mercury is not used and there is automatic correction for variations in the ambient temperature. Provision is made for verification of the level on which the meter is used. #CMT# : #/CMT# The meter is related to the tendency barometer and is a fluid barometer, with gas-filled (9) closed tube arm (8) and a reservoir (10). Since measurement is on the closed tube arm, the first difficult negative scale variation is discarded. The correction for the altered pressure of the gas in the closed arm on variation of the ambient temperature is obtained by using the expansion coefficient and the similar weight of the barometer fluid (5). As the temperature in the ambiance rises, the gas in the closed tube end will expand and a quantity of fluid (5) will be impelled to the other tube arm (3), until the height difference in the fluid levels in both tube arms further exactly compensates the gas pressure.
