An automobile has an air compressor with heat exchanger to cool the compressed incoming air. The unit consists of a bank of flat pipes (3) and corrugated ribs (2). The assembly further has a bank of collector boxes (2) each separated from the adjacent box by an air duct with a funnel air inlet (4).
