The heat exchanger, especially for vehicles, has a two-part distribution and/or collection unit (5) mostly composed of a deep-drawn light metal component (10) to define the hollow interior. The shaped plastics component (20) is restricted to a flat cover, in one piece with integrated inflow and outflow connections (80) and dividing walls to separate the fluid flows. The dividing walls have the same height as the peripheral side wall (15).
