The switch has a first electrical drive arrangement (1) for closing the battery isolation switch when open and a second electrical drive arrangement (2) for unlocking the battery isolation switch when closed. The first drive arrangement is a first electromagnet. A locking element (4) automatically locks the battery isolation switch in the closed state when the first drive arrangement is switched on to change from the open to the closed state.
