The invention relates to a novel drug delivery technology. More particularly the invention relates to a pioneer projectile that facilitates injection of at least one therapeutic compound. The invention further relates to injectates comprising such pioneer projectiles and at least one therapeutic compound and also to disposable components comprising pioneer projectiles and/or injectates.
