PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy of a hybrid vehicle equipped with a powder clutch between an engine and a drive system.
SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle is provided with the powder clutch 3 equipped with a motor 4 for transferring an engine speed to the drive system and a continuously variable transmission 5 for continuously changing a reduction ratio of the drive system on the downstream side of the motor 4. When the powder clutch is engaged after the engine speed and a powder clutch input-side engine speed are synchronized with each other, an engagement command is outputted earlier than when the actual vehicle speed reaches a target engagement vehicle speed by only a period equivalent to the period until rotation synchronization has been completed since engine starting, relative to the target engagement vehicle speed of the powder clutch calculated from a demand driving force and the vehicle speed. Thus, fuel loss due to slippage can be reduced by completing the powder clutch engagement at an early timing.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
