<p>Sterilization indicator for authenticating correct and complete execution of a sterilization procedure and for integration into sterilization packaging material comprises a support with a variable zone that undergoes a specific change in the presence of a sterilizing agent. Independent claims are also included for: (1) sterilization packaging sheet for containing a medical object or device to be sterilized, comprising a sterilization indicator as above within the sheet and/or in one of its surface layers; (2) sterilization package comprising one or more sheets as above, at least one of which constitutes the exterior of the package; (3) sterilizing medical objects or devices by placing the object or device in a partially formed package as above, verifying the the package has at least one sterilization indicator, completely forming the package around the object or device, exposing the package to a sterilizing agent to which the indicator is sensitive, and verifying that the variable zone of the indicator has undergone the expected change.</p> |
