摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration method for calibrating a fixed format emissive display device having a plurality of pixels and a fixed format emissive display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device have pixels each including at least three sub-pixels for emitting lights of the different real primary colors. The calibration method includes the steps of: determining, for each real primary color separately, color coordinates of virtual target primary colors which can be reached by at least &ge;80% of the pixels of the display device; determining color gamut defined by the determined virtual target primary colors; and adjusting drive currents to sub-pixels so that pixels which can not reached by the virtual target primary colors can have colors in the determined color gamuts. Further, display having an extended range of colors i.e. a gamut of colors that is more than the gamut provided by an electronic multicolor display based on n virtual primary color, for example, measured on a chromaticity diagram is represented.
