<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant capable of effectively deodorizing strong odors of excreta of animals, garbage and the body odor of pets and domestic animals, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The effective component of a first deodorant is an aqueous solution which contains organic acid, calcium salt, magnesium salt and iron salt and adjusted to be pH 5.5 or below it. The effective component of a second deodorant is a fermented solution adjusted to be pH 5 or below, which is obtained by replenishing a nutritional component containing the organic acid, the calcium salt, the magnesium salt and the iron salt to a salting liquid for working meat to which lactic acid fermentation is performed or its waste liquid and fermenting it again. It is preferable to contain the calcium salt for 1-6 mass %, the magnesium salt for 0.3-1.5 mass % and the iron salt for 0.00005-0.1 mass %.
