<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal having a control structure for dynamic aperture ratios, capable of controlling the aperture ratio and luminance by pixels. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device includes gate lines which are formed on a 1st substrate; data lines crossing the gate lines; switching elements, connected to the gate lines and data lines; sub-color-filter layers of red R, green R, blue B, and yellow Y which are formed of sub-pixel areas of red R, green G, blue B, and yellow Y connected to the switching elements and a white sub-pixel area surrounded with the sub-pixel areas and correspond to the sub-pixel areas of red R, green G, blue B, and yellow Y formed on a 2nd substrate; a common electrode which is formed on the sub-color-filter layers of red R, green G, blue B, and yellow Y; and a liquid crystal layer formed between pixel electrodes of red R, green G, blue B, and yellow Y and the sub-color-filter layers of red R, green G, blue B, and yellow Y. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
