<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent wrinkles in an optical sheet in a large-sized backlight unit in which the amount of thermal expansion of the sheet is large. <P>SOLUTION: In the backlight unit, a diffuser 2 is placed in front of a light source and a number of optical sheets 3 are put in front of the diffuser 2. Edge of each optical sheet 3 has a plurality of engagement holes 4. Metal hooks 6 are prepared on the housing outside the engagement holes 4. A pulling coil spring 5 is hooked on the hole 4 of each optical sheet 3 at one end and extended to be hooked on the metal hook 6 at the other end. The spring coefficient of the pulling coil spring 5 pulling up the each optical sheet 3 is determined larger by the weight of the optical sheet 3 than that of the spring 5 pulling down the optical sheet 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
