PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a cloth, by which a cloth-pulling and squeezing treatment using a thermally shrinking yarn is utilized to dye and Yuzen-dye the cloth and simultaneously form a protruded pattern on the cloth. SOLUTION: This method for processing the cloth comprises forming prescribed straight lines, a prescribed pattern or their mixture on the cloth with an upper yarn 2 and a thermally shrinking yarn 2, and then heating the cloth 1 to thermally shrink the thermally shrinking yarn 2, thus forming a protruded pattern 4 on the surface of the cloth 1. The upper yarn 2 is alternately passed through the front and back sides of the cloth 1 to form loops on the back side of the cloth. The thermally shrinking yarn 2 on which the upper yarn 2 is wound to form the loops the upper yarn 2 and leave the upper yarn on the back side of the cloth 1 can thermally be shrunk.
