PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with a known vehicular lighting system that the safety cannot be ensured though the appearance is excellent. SOLUTION: In the lighting system 1, a large number of light emitters 12 are provided in a ring with an interval therebetween on a frame 2 to be mounted on a ceiling part 50 in a cabin. The light emitters are covered by a cover 7 so as to form a space 15 from the ceiling part when mounted on the ceiling part so that the light from the light emitters is leaked from the space to realize the indirect illumination in the cabin. The light emitters are automatically switched to be turned on or turned off, and spot lamps 5 of the number of the doors to illuminate a part around doors of a vehicle are provided. In the lighting system 1, the indirect illumination, the light emitting pattern, the moving pattern of the spot lamps, or the like are changeable. When the vehicle doors are opened/closed, the indirect illumination by the light emitters is peripherally moved in the right-to-left direction from the position far away from the opened/closed door, the movement is stopped in a vicinity of the opened/closed door, the spot lamp corresponding to the opened/closed door is turned on to illuminate the door and therearound, and a TV monitor 18 to be opened/closed to the ceiling side and the cabin side is provided.
