A method for driving an electric machine with a driving system, in which an operation variable of the electrical machine and/or of the control system is monitored. The plausibility of the input variables of the drive system is verified parallel in two independent functional blocks (14,15) and an error reaction is formed when at least one of the two functional blocks (14,15) establishes a non-plausibility of the input variables. An independent claim is included for a drive system for an electrical machine.
