Method for improved identification of loss of air at tire of vehicle, using temporary increase of momentum of wheel

The evaluation of the data attained by determining the wheel acceleration is performed in several steps. The difference between the maximal and the minimal oscillation of the wheel acceleration within a fixed period is established. Criterion A indicating if the fixed level has been exceeded has to be checked. Criterion B indicating if the level is at least twice as a high as the average level of the other wheels has to be checked. A meter is consulted when both criteria are met. The driver is informed when an empty tire is identified.
