<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer which enables specifications of a roll-shaped print medium in a mounted state to be visually observed from the outside, and the print medium for use in the label printer. <P>SOLUTION: In a main body case 2 of this label printer 1, an upper cover 5 made of a transparent resin is openably/closably attached to an upper edge on the rear side in such a manner as to cover the upside of a roll sheet holder storage part 4. Thus, a roll sheet 3A of a roll sheet holder 3, which is detachably attached to the storage part 4, can be seen through the upper cover 5. A plurality of pieces of medium information 101, which is described as "64 mm×30 m" meaning that the width of the sheet holder 3 is "64 mm" and that the length thereof is "30 m", are printed on the roll sheet 3A of the sheet holder 3.
