<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image composition of an arbitrary loop shape image having an internal void and a background image in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a display operating means 2 for designating composite positions of one graphic image having an internal void and the other image which are to be composited, a loop extracting means 7 for extracting the shape of the designated graphic image having the internal void, and an image compositing means 8 for compositing the graphic image having the internal void with the designated position of the other image.
