<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protective air bag device capable of preventing interference between a protective inflatable part and a key accessory for protecting knees in an air bag. <P>SOLUTION: In this knee protective air bag device S1, the folded air bag 40 projects from a case 13 arranged under a steering column 2 on the front side of a driver D when inflating gas flows in. The air bag 40 completed with unfolding and inflation, protects the knees K of the driver D by the protective inflatable part 48. The air bag 40 has an auxiliary inflatable part 49 as an interference preventive means in the vicinity of the upper edge 40a side so as to be capable of preventing the interference between the protective inflatable part 48 and the accessory A of a key E inserted into a key cylinder 6.
