PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the locking means of a conventional lamp socket has a stopper for preventing separation of a pawl, but it requires bending margin of the pawl or pawl receptacle for the portion of thickness of the pawl at the time of assembling of a lamp socket, however, because of the stopper, it is hardly bent, thereby making assembling not easy. SOLUTION: The locking means is provided with a pawl receptacle, a pair of slits on both sides of the pawl receptacle, and a pair of stopper contacts below these on the side becoming the inner side by engaging out of a socket main body and a cover, and a pawl and a pair of stoppers below the pawl on the side becoming the outside. Since, by assembling, the pawl is locked to the pawl receptacle and the pair of stopper contacts contact the pair of stoppers, the spacing between the pair of slits bends at engaging at the time of assembling, and the assembling becomes easier.
