PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive capable of sufficiently meeting the request of miniaturization corresponding to the miniaturization of a device to which the disk drive is mounted such as a notebook personal computer, and an electronic device. SOLUTION: For a casing 2 and a tray, the length from the rotational center 10 of an optical disk 9 to a bezel 8 side is set slightly longer than the radius of the optical disk 9 so as to house the optical disk 9. However, the length from the rotational center 10 of the optical disk 9 to a rear side is set shorter than the radius of the optical disk 9, and thus on the rear side, the optical disk 9 is exposed from the casing 2 and the tray. The end of a connection line 13 for supplying power or inputting/outputting a signal to a rotary-driving means is exposed from the casing 2, and a control board 12 for controlling the optical disk drive is connected to the end of the connection line 13. A connector 11 is disposed in the control board 12, and the optical disk drive is attached to an electronic device such as a personal computer via the connector 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
