PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably transport leading merchandise on a merchandise transporting unit to a bucket side. SOLUTION: This automatic vending machine is provided with: a measuring unit for measuring a period in which leading merchandise is continuously detected by a non-contact sensor since the driving of a first driving belt is stopped by a first driving mechanism on the basis of the detection result of a non-contact sensor; and a control part for determining whether the period measured by the measuring unit has reached a predetermined period, and when the period measured by the measuring unit has reached the predetermined period, supplying a driving signal for transporting a first driving belt to the leading merchandise side by a predetermined length to the first driving mechanism when the period measured by the measuring unit has reached the predetermined period, and further supplying a stop signal to stop the driving of a second driving belt to a second driving mechanism when the leading merchandise is not detected from the detection state by the non-contact sensor.
