PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding device for a turret type packaging machine which can surely and beautifully perform the corner folding of a film sheet as the packaging material even when a product to be packaged has a side surface of a square or a rectangle being close to a square. SOLUTION: This folding device for the turret type packaging machine is equipped with a pair of corner folding tuckers 34<SB>U</SB>and 34<SB>D</SB>which are apart in the radial direction of the turret. The corner folding tuckers 34U and 34D alternately reciprocate, and fold the corner of the film sheet on the corresponding side. Then, the distal end width W<SB>2</SB>of the corner folding tucker 34<SB>U</SB>which performs the folding motion first is wider than the distal end width W<SB>1</SB>of the corner folding tucker 34D which performs the folding motion later.
