PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mat having every quality of the material spread in a vehicle to be also cleaned. SOLUTION: A mat cleaner is arranged with mat inroad means 5 and 6, dust beat means 8 and 11, brushing means 13 and 14, and squeezing means 15, 16 and 17 in this order; provided with a first water sprinkling pipe 18 for sprinkling the mat with water before brushing, and a second and a third water sprinkling pipes 19 and 20 for sprinkling the squeezing means 15, 16 and 17 with water; and also provided with switching means 22 and 23 for passing water through every sprinkling pipe when a rubber-made mat is cleaned, and passing water through only the third sprinkling pipe 20 when a carpet-like mat is cleaned.
