The present invention relates to a system and a method for cleaning more or less vertical surfaces (10), such as for example window or glass or thin-plated metal facades. The system comprises means (16,20,23) for moistening said more or less vertical surface (10) with a fluid such as for example water, with or without any detergent and/or rinsing means. The system also comprises means (14) for removal of fluid and/or dirt or the like from the more or less vertical surface (10). The means for removal of fluid and/or dirt comprises one or more units (19,24) imposing ultrasonic movement of said more or less vertical surface (10), comprising ultrasonic transducers (19), driven by an ultrasonic driver unit (24). The more or less vertical surface (10) is subjected to electromechanical vibra-tion while moistening the more or less vertical surface (10) with fluid, whereby dirt, particles are loosened from the surface (10) and become detached, suspended in the fluid and being transported away by said fluid, preferably by means of gravitation. |
