<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device for suppressing the deposition amount of toner by suppressing deterioration in granularity of an image due to exposure of paper fibers, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This exposure device forms a latent image on a surface of an image carrier body by exposing the image carrier body according to input image information, and allows an image area judgment section 40 to compare an area of the input image obtained from the input image information with a predetermined value. When the area is smaller than the predetermined value, exposing energy per a pixel unit is made greater than exposing energy per a pixel unit in the writing of a solid image by an exposure energy modulation section 31. As a result, it is possible to obtain an adequate deposition amount capable of suppressing the exposing of the paper fibers, and then it is possible to suppress the deterioration in the granularity of an image due to exposure of the paper fibers and to reduce the amount of the adhered toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
