PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of using various general communication forms and expanding a control range. SOLUTION: A PDP 10 is equipped with a PDP main body part 100 which displays inputted content data, a communication control I/F 200 which communicates with an outer side to control the PDP main body part 100 and is detachably mounted on the PDP main body part 100, and a video I/F 300 which inputs contents from outside and outputs the inputted content data to the PDP 10 and is detachably mounted on the PDP main body part 100. A system control part 112 is placed in operation based upon control data obtained by the communication control I/F 200 from outside, and the system control part 112 is thus placed in operation to control a display signal generation part 105, thereby outputting the content data to a display part 103 and a speaker 108.
