PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar-type vibrating motor that can be reduced in size, by improving the structure of supporting the rotating shaft, the structure of the joint between a fixed body and the rotating shaft, and the structure of contact between a commutator and a brush. SOLUTION: The bar-type vibrating motor comprises a stator portion, a rotor portion, and a power supply portion. The stator portion is provided with a body 12 and magnets 14 fixed on the body 12. The rotor portion comprises a rotating shaft 32, with an eccentric weight 37 fixed at one end and the fixed body 38 fixed at the other end, whose portion adjacent to the eccentric weight 37 is rotatably supported in the body 12; a commutator 34 comprising a plurality of segments fixed on one side face of the fixed body 38; and an armature 36 fixed on the fixed body 38 disposed at a distance from the magnets 14, and electrically connected with the commutator 34. The power supply portion comprises a fixed cap 52 fixed to the body 12, and a brush 54 that is attached to the fixed cap 52 and supplies the armature 36 with a current. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
