PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an after-recording signal capable of restoring after-recording data into original data and allowing a user to selectively replace main data with the after-recording data at reproduction of a plurality of recorded after-recording data. SOLUTION: An audio coder 101b applies MPEG coding to after-recording audio data, a PES packetizing unit 102b attaches identification information to element data of the after-recording audio data to packetize the resulting after-recording audio data, and a time stamp recording unit 103b records time stamp data of the PES packet of the after-recording audio data. The PES packet of the after-recording audio data in which the identification information and the time stamp are recorded is converted into a stream not via a multiplexer 104 and recorded on a recording medium 108.
