PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner superior in fixability, also having proper coloring power, color mixing properties, development performance, durability and environmental stability, and which is capable of stably forming images superior in transfer efficiency and gradation, and satisfying high definition. SOLUTION: In a magenta toner containing at least a binder resin, a colorant comprising a quinacridone pigment and a wax, the wax concentration of an extract, obtained by dispersing the toner at 23°C in n-hexane at a density of 15 mg/cm<SP>3</SP>and carrying out extraction for 1 min is within a range of 0.08-0.50 mg/cm<SP>3</SP>.
